The Mahatma Gandhi Medical College campus witnessed yet another troublesome day on Tuesday when a second year student was thrashed by a first year student and his friends.
According to reports, Vinay Kumar Uddam was studying in the college lawn when Mohit Chaudhry and his friends thrashed him brutally and fled from the scene immediately. A badly hurt Vinay then called his friends, who took him to the casualty ward of the hospital for first aid.
Later, Vinay lodged a formal complaint against Mohit, Anand Nagdeve, Yogendra Singh, Kuldeep Sen, Ravindra Sawant and Purushottam with the dean of the college and police.
Vinay told Bhaskar News that about four months ago the college administration had suspended Mohit after a few students complained against him. Mohit believed that it was Vinay who had conspired against him.
Meanwhile, the MGM administration said that it is probing the issue and will take strong actions against all those found involved in the case.
We have received a formal complaint about the incident from victim himself. The case has been transferred to the college’s discipline committee for further probe, said Dr MK Saraswat, Dean, MGM Medical College.
