| Pulse polio: Diary to remind parents of dates |

Health department has written to the school education department to ensure that schools write about getting the child administered polio drops during the pulse polio drive. Joint director health services, Indore division, Dr Sharad Pandit said, “Director health has already communicated to the school education department in this regard. It is an attempt to ensure that maximum number of children is administered polio drops.” Schools have been instructed to write on diaries where homework assignments are written with a note telling the parents to get their child administered pulse polio drops. There are around 4.5 lakh children between 0-5 age group in the district. In a bid to cover the entire population during the drive being carried out from February 19 to April 1, 4,100 polio booths will be operational in the entire district. Several mobile teams will also be functional in the district for administering polio drops. For convenience of execution the city has been divided into four zones, Nandanagar, Malharganj, Sanyogitaganj, and Hukumchand areas. For every zone an officer has been appointed. Similar arrangements have been made for rural areas also. The health department is employing a work force of 9.562, including officials and other staff, to ensure complete coverage of children.
